Flower CHILLERS

Things To Know About Hydroponic Chillers

Industrial Chillers Made In The USA The flower industry has been expanding into all sorts of products, but they all start with good plants. This puts the onus on cultivators to grow healthy ones. One of the best methods for doing this is through hydroponics, but that does require equipment. Chillers, for instance, are involved. Here are a few things you should know about the chillers you need should you be starting a hydroponic operation. What You Use It For Hydroponic systems rely on the root zone remaining the right temperature as water circulates nutrient-added water around them. This water has to be warm enough for the root systems to suck the maximum amount of nutrition from it, but cool enough to discourage root rot, low oxygen uptake, and algae growth. The right temperature is typically set at 65 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Design Considerations In a hydroponic system, you will need a reservoir of nutrients and water. The chiller will be attached to this and a water pump will take the water in the reservoir through the chiller and then to the plant roots. These chillers can take many shapes, depending on your needs. Some (called air-cooled chillers) will cool the water by dumping heat straight in the air, and others (called water-cooled chillers) will put the heat in a stream of refrigerant, which will then go to a compressor to cool off. You may need to put the chiller in a room separate from the growing plants since air-cooled chillers produce heat. This means that you will have to connect it to your feeder tubes. This requires different pumps that need to be added to the chiller. You might want to add the nutrients to a reservoir already attached to the chiller as well. This all depends on where you put the chiller and how much space you can give it. Hydroponic chillers can come in a range of horsepower, and how big a chiller you get will depend on the size of your operation. It won’t be very efficient to get a 140 HP chiller for a few rows of plants. The water won’t get any cooler, and it will suck up extra energy. On the other hand, getting a chiller that is too small will mean constantly refilling your reservoir and working it for longer. Rent Chiller vs Owned Chiller You can buy a chiller outright, and this can be worth the upfront investment if you are willing to maintain it properly. However, many rental packages come with maintenance and troubleshooting services. Other rental advantages: They are easy to return for a model better suited to new conditions. You can size up or down with demand, for instance. They may be easier to budget for. How J.C. “Flower” Chiller Rentals Made in USA

Benefit Your Business with a Flower Chiller Rental If you’re new to the flower business, you are probably dealing with various new equipment, and thinking of getting new flower chillers only adds to the hassle. Your company has a wide range of products that you’re making, and every product in your catalog has its varieties. Therefore, every flavor will need a new twist, and the volume you get out of a chiller may vary. Your business may consequently benefit more from renting a flower chiller than buying one. Factors to consider when renting “Flower” chillers Before you dive into the factors that you need to consider when renting Flower chillers, there are two main categories you should know about, portable chillers and central chillers. To make an optimal decision for your Flower cooling needs, you should understand that each class has its features and advantages. However, the following are some of the general factors you should consider when renting chillers. 1. Available floor space When looking to rent a chiller, you should consider the floor space available to accommodate the chiller on the floor. Always ensure that your processing area has no equipment clutter. The space available should help you decide the flower chiller size. If you have a much bigger processing space, a portable chiller is ideal for you. However, if the available room is less, you may need to get a central chiller. Ideally, you should have a relatively bigger room that can accommodate other machines along with your flower chillers. 2. Noise produced Noise levels are one of the crucial determinants that you should consider when renting a chiller. Most cooling units are located close to events or other factories where most people work. If you’re shopping for a chiller, you should pick one that reduces the noise or go for one that can be installed outside depending on your needs. 3. Performance and accuracy Accuracy and efficiency are also key things to consider when renting a chiller. Portable chillers are a popular pick when it comes to efficiency and performance. This is because they can work at different temperature levels in specific spaces. They are flexible, customizable, and variable making them the best option for temperature control and performance. On the other hand, central chillers are great if you’re looking for uniform cooling. These chillers only operate at one temperature for one floor. However, if you want precision in cooling, central chillers aren’t the best option to go for. Always check the setting before settling on one type of chiller rental. 4. Cost of the machine Chiller costs vary based on their sizes, features, labels, efficacy, and flexibility. Portable chillers are costlier than central chillers. If you’re looking for flexibility, then a portable chiller is the best alternative, but if you’re looking for a fixed machine, then the central chiller is the go-to option. As a “flower” business, the cooling aspect is a very pivotal one for ensuring that you meet every one of your clients’ “flower” needs. The chiller you choose plays a significant role in performance, efficiency, and production quality. Therefore, you need to get it right when selecting a rental chiller. Hopefully, the above tips will help you rent the best chiller for your cooling needs. Custom Built Chillers For Your Cannabis Business

Why Custom Build a Cannabis Chiller? Anyone entering the flower business is already dealing with a lot of new equipment, so it might be tempting to ask for a standard chiller for your company. However, your company might find it better to get a custom-built rental chiller instead. Every company is unique. There is a wide range of products you could be making, and each product has its own subset of varieties. Every flavor will need a new twist on your chiller. How much volume you need to get out of the chiller varies. Small operations shouldn’t be shelling out for something that is too big, and folks dealing in big bulk orders can’t be messing around with machines that are too small. Then there is the need to fit it in your building. Some people’s operations are in spacious warehouses that can hold big, heat-radiating chillers. Others have a corner room in a sublet space, and they have keep their chiller compact. This is especially true in places that are changing the rules about selling flower as you might have recently changed where you are set up. All this means that no chiller is one-size fits all, especially in the flower industry. What Kinds Of Customizations Might You Need? You can have different types of condensers, depending on if you can put a cooling tower on your building or if you want to keep a water-cooled chiller in your main room. There are vertical and horizontal dischargers, depending on your space requirements. Chillers can also be made to take advantage of the winter temperatures for the cost and energy savings. Different types of reservoirs and pumps can be included in your chiller so that some of your chillers can be pre-cooled by using an extra reservoir. If you suspect that your chilling needs will fluctuate, some chiller packages can come designed to be added on to when you have to process a lot more than normal. Since you don’t want to crowd out your growing operation, you will want to consider whether you will have indoor or outdoor chiller units. Getting an outdoors chiller, where the tower and condenser are on the roof or in the back, can free up room for your plants. On the other hand, you might to keep it all as close to each other as possible to cut down on labor requirements. It depends on your needs. You might need more horsepower. Some chillers come in 1.5 HP and others come in 10 HP. Again, it depends on how much you have to process at once and you should talk to experts before deciding. Where JCY Comes In When It Comes To Cannabis Chillers JC Younger has been helping entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams by creating chillers that fit their companies for decades now. Mid-Temperature Chiller Rentals & Sales For Cannabis Industry

Controlling Temperature Is Critical Entering the extraction industry can feel daunting. There are a lot of new terms and processes to learn, and there are a lot of chemical reactions to master. Things get even more complicated as your business grows, producing more product, perhaps more lines of products, and establishing your name with the customer base. Fortunately, one of the most important aspects to learn is the temperatures that you need to get your product to. JC Younger can help you with mid-temperature cooling. The other part of the process is removing for example the Alcohol (or other solvents) from the oil by using heat in a vacuum state and recapturing solvent for next usage by boiling out solvent and condensing the solvent after heated. This process only need a system with supplies medium temperature cooling (25F-80F glycol). Your product is affected by temperature all the time. For instance, the two types of winterization, static and continuous, get their key differences from the temperatures used. See, the fatty contaminants in crude extracted oil have to be turned into a solid state in order to remove them from the final product, and the continuous method of winterization does this by using a chiller to get the wax to -10 to -40 degrees F for a period of time. This very low temperature, with the continual motion involved, increases the terpenes that remain in your product, increasing flavor. De-waxing also requires sub-zero temperatures that take place in a chiller that is attached to a closed-loop extractor. Other processes require slightly warmer temperatures. Getting the temperatures wrong can lead to: 1. Solvents, such as butane or ethanol, staying in your end product. 2. Losing flavors from terpenoids evaporating away. 3. Losing active ingredients from your products. It is also wise to store your products in chillers once they are ready to sell and until you ship them out. Keeping them at the right, cool, temperatures, keeps them fresh and the THC-A and CBD-A inactive. It will prolong the shelf-life, which avoids wasted product from when you had a superabundant harvest but not enough buyers. JC Younger Understands And Can Make A Chiller For You We have been customizing chillers for all industries since 1956, so we were prepared to meet the needs of the flower industry from the moment it started to grow. There are many ways that we can meet your needs. 1. We customize our machines to the business requirements, whether that is winterizing, dewaxing, or closed-loop extraction. Every company has a unique set of circumstances, such as whether they have to house the chiller outside or not, and an expert technician can create a chiller that will work for the individual business. 2. The chillers have no OEM (a special brand name) parts or specialized parts, meaning that any technician can fix or replace broken bits quickly. You won’t have to worry about losing productivity because your machine is down for a while. 3. All the parts meet the standards of the Electrical Testing Laboratories, so you know they are safe and durable. 4. Our chillers are designed to be easily maintained. Troubleshooting can often be done with one phone call. Our customer service department can also send out a certified technician if the problem proves a bit more complicated. 5. Our rental packages can be from a few weeks to a couple of years, depending on what you need. You can order a chiller any day, at any hour, and we fulfill orders quickly. This way, you can get your chiller almost as soon as you realize that you need one. 6. Three Excellent Types of Cannabis Extraction Methods For Quality Products

The flower industry is booming in North America, and the, “green rush”, has encouraged people to utilize creative ways to extract cannabinoids from the flower plant. The innovation that we have seen in the industry is pretty amazing. JC Younger can help you set up your flower extraction facility. With the green rush taking place across the country, brands are creating new products to serve a wider range of new customers. These consumer brands are using flower extraction methods in new and inventive ways that require streamlined chemical extraction processes. Different products require different cannabinoid compounds. We are seeing more cannabinoids being discovered and becoming popular, i.e. CBG, CBN, and Delta-8. In this blog, we cover three flower extraction methods  that are commonly used in the CBD, hemp, and flower industry: 1) Ethanol Extraction This process is known for creating some of the purest and best-tasting concentrates. Ethanol is a very efficient solvent, so extraction can be done at room temperature, super cold conditions, or right at the boiling point. The ethanol solvent binds with chlorophyll, which can make the product taste bitter. Cannabis extraction method using Ethanol extraction can isolate cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavanoids so your product. Ethanol Extraction Process: 1. Heat your feed to remove chlorophyll. 2. Boil ethanol and catch the alcohol in a cooled- coil. 3. Drip the alcohol through your plant material until it is soaked through and leaches out the THC, terpenoids, and other goodies. After this, you have to filter the flower from the liquid. This can be done in the machine that did the first two steps. Often, they will have a rotary system that spins the materials until the plant is completely extracted. The fun part is separating out the ethanol from the compounds you want. Since ethanol has a low boiling point, this is fairly easy. Your chiller can winterize the product, keeping the temperature very low for a while in a vacuum so that the solvent drops out. 2) Alcohol Tincture Extraction This is a basic Cannabis extraction method that will leave you with the tarry honey oil. It’s often done by small scale operations or by people at home, but you can scale up if you want. The process: 1. Treat your feed to decarboxylation, meaning heat your material to around 250 degrees Fahrenheit for a prolonged period of time. 2. Soak your treated feed in the water. 3. Drain it and replace the water with pure, high-proof alcohol 4. Stir this together and then put it through a strainer. 5. Heat the resulting liquid to separate out the alcohol and filter out the plant. You will wind up with the classic oil you remember from your youth. 3) Carbon Dioxide (Supercritical Fluid Extraction) Supercritical carbon dioxide (C02) is the gas we all exhale after it has been treated to 73bar (1060psi) at 33.1 degrees Celsius. This turns it into a material that spreads like gas but flows like a liquid. For flower extraction methods for quality products, Supercritical C02 extraction is often considered the gold standard because it will take out all 500 compounds that you could possibly want to utilize in your flower extract products. 1. Have your extractor full of CO2 properly calibrated. 2. Feed the plant material into it. The supercritical carbon dioxide will soak the feed and leach out 90 to 95% of all the compounds. The next step will be to winterize your product. How long you do this will depend on the products you are making. If you do it for a short time, you will wind up with wax in your product and, while it will make shatter just fine, it won’t be good for vape liquids. As you can see, you have a lot of choices when it comes to flower extraction methods for quality products, and many of them require chillers. JC Younger is proud to say that we can customize chillers to your Cannabis extraction method, and we can rent them to your company for anything from weeks to years. If you are looking to get a chiller for your process, contact us.

The Common Parameters for Cannabis Industry Chillers and How Industrial Chillers are Vital to Every Step As mentioned in past blog posts by JC Younger, there are various methods that can be used to extract cannabinoids from the flower plant. Whether you are extracting hemp or flower, there are common parameters that need to be controlled. These include temperature, pressure or vacuum, source material, and solvent feed rate. During The Extraction Process Temperature Must be Consistent and Repeatable Temperature control while using any of the common flower extraction processes, such as ethanol or CO2, is critical. During the process of chilling the extraction agent, temperatures can reach negative 45 Fahrenheit or lower, and then it is compressed until it is liquefied. There is only one efficient way to reach this temperature and control it, and that is with a chiller. For high-quality results, JC Younger recommends that a custom flower extraction chiller unit be designed to meet unique temperature profile requirements, in comparison to a standard piece of equipment that is not built for the flower extraction industry. According to Marijuana Venture, “temperature control is necessary throughout all the steps in the process, but precise extraction chamber temperature control is absolutely essential to managing final product quality and characteristics.” It’s understandable that absolute temperature control must also be replicable from one batch to another. The standard temperature control variance must be within 0.275 degrees Celsius for consistency across product results, according to Marijuana Venture. Initial Purification Process Requires Temperature Control For the final product purification, dewaxing and “winterization” removes waxes and undesired elements. The separation process depends upon cooling the extract down. Decarboxylation Activates the CBD/THC Components with Temperature Control Another step, decarboxylation, is necessary for stimulating the CBD/THC components. This process requires “carefully heating an extracted solution to release the carboxyl ring group (COOH).” Distillation Process for Final Purification Depends upon Temperature Control Again, “closely controlled temperature” plays a role in the final production of a high-quality CBD and THC oils. Extremely high temperatures are necessary for this final purification process. Solvent Removal is Accomplished with Temperature Control “The final step in the process is solvent removal, accomplished in a separate, external cold trap, which is also temperature controlled with a chiller.” And in some productions, “crystallization” may be needed to separate THC and CBD, requiring temperature adjustment and control. When Your Cannabis Business Might Want To Rent A Chiller

The Importance of A Good Chiller In CBD/THC Extraction And Distillation When you are starting out in the flower and hemp processing business, there are many pieces of equipment to consider. One of the most important to the quality of the product is the chiller. There are many extraction processes to choose from when you are processing flower. Many of them require liquefying the extracting agent, which could be CO2, butane, propane, or ethanol. Whichever you use, you start out by cooling and then compressing it. The temperature that you cool it to is critical. If it is more than .5 degrees Fahrenheit too hot, you can lose the some of the flavoring terpenoids in the product. It could denature the final product itself. You could wind up with a lot of resin with little active ingredients. If it is too cold, you will get less wax and more oil. Then you will need to purify it further by cooling the extracted substances to -4 degrees Fahrenheit (or -20 degrees Celsius.) If the chiller is too warm, contaminants can remain. Being able to control the temperature is crucial to both steps. However, it isn’t always necessary to buy the chiller to have around your warehouse. When A Rental Is A Good Idea The extraction industry can throw you curve balls. For instance: You are just starting your business and aren’t certain how invested you want to be. Renting a chiller lets you try your hand at it while the laws concerning flower products are in flux and you’re deciding on your business plan. You harvest enough to start processing only part of the year and can’t afford to waste space on equipment that you aren’t currently using. You harvested way more than you expected and need to process it all quickly in order to get reliably high-quality products to your customers. For tax or financial reasons, it is better for your company to rent big pieces of equipment than to own them. You would feel better with a maintenance package, and you know a rental will come with customer service. You will be moving soon and you don’t want to invest in a big piece of equipment that you will have to move and might not fit in the new space anyway. All these are good reasons to rent a chiller. How Can JC Younger Help You With It? As a company, JC Younger has specialized in customizing chillers to every company’s needs, and we include the extraction industry. We can build really big chillers to meet your high volume needs, and the temperatures of our chillers are easy to dial in to guarantee a quality product. Cannabis Industry Terms You Need to Know

Many terms exist in the flower industry. Many people are familiar with some. However, working in the industry requires more than just knowing a few terms. Working in the industry requires familiarity with a wide range of flower industry terms. A basic guide helps to understand what people are talking about in the industry. Feed In the flower industry terms Feed is equal to the flower. These are the hairy or sticky parts of the plant. This is what is harvested for consumption. Many also refer to this as the trim. All three terms mean the similar part. Spent Feed In flower industry terms it means talking about leftover flower. This is what is left after successful harvesting. The target of Extraction Content This flower industry term is the focus of harvesting flower. Industries harvest the plant to extract THC or CBD. Obviously, these are used for recreational use as well as medicinal. Now, more than ever, more and more states aren’t just using CBD oil, but also seeing the medical benefits of THC. Contaminants This flower industry term refers to unwanted substances in the flower. Some examples of contaminants include pesticides, molds, and bacteria. Other contaminants that are still being closely watched include metals and solvents. Solvents  These dissolve other substances to create a solution. This method is used extraction. Some solvents used are liquid butane, propane, co2, and water. There is debate on which is the best solvent. Depending on the yield and growing conditions, many times water with the right pH is more than enough. Although some say a better percent yield is possible when using chemical solvents. Solute In the flower industry terms, solute is the material that has dissolved due to a solvent. These solutes tend to be oils and contaminants that extractors want to be eliminated during the process. Loaded Solution In the flower industry terms, loaded solution refers to dissolved THC, other solutes, plus the liquid solvent. This is part of the extraction process. Extract This refers to the purpose of the process. The extract is the THC oil plus a few other things extracted. The solvent is gone due to evaporation. This allows the industry to use the oils to produce other products. This includes things like edibles, to CBD oil that people use to treat pain. Recovery In the flower industry terms recovery refers to the percent of a particular molecule dissolved from the feed and retained in the product. Depending on the method of extraction, it can vary. This is also influenced by growing conditions, harvesting methods, and if leaching was used. Yield This flower industry term is pretty self-explanatory. The yield is the total amount of feed or flower, that is produced. It shouldn’t be confused with the percent yield. It is simply the amount of feed harvested before extraction. Percent Yield While the yield refers to the total product, a percent yield is the fraction of the total product divided by the total feed. This basically means the amount of THC and oils that are extracted from the total yield. This does vary, as different methods of growing, harvesting, and extracting produce different percent yields. This happens even when the total yields are similar. Leaching The flower industry term leaching means dissolving a target into a solution. This process is done many times with tap water if the pH level is correct for the plants. Many also hear it referred to as flushing. This is a step often overlooked but leads to better-smelling flowers. Some claim it makes them easier to burn as well. Leaching Time This flower industry term is simply how long a solvent is in contact with the feed. Depending on the type of solvent, this time varies. Some suggest shorter times with chemicals solvents. Even using water, it is important to use a special meter to check the total dissolved solids, or TDS. These flower industry terms are not the end-all. If someone needs a passing familiarity, these are a great place to start. With this in mind, continued learning is required. Top 5 Cannabis Extraction Methods in 2022 | JC Younger

Cannabis Extraction Methods | JC Younger Common Cannabis Extraction Methods in 2022 Alcohol, butane, CO2, water, and ethanol are common methods of flower extraction. All of these solvents allow for separating cannabinoids from the flower plant. Each extraction method has its own benefit, but the goal of each is to offer a highly potent end product. Cannabis extracts are beneficial because extraction allows for: Higher cannabinoid purity Accurate dosing Stronger and longer-lasting concentrates The most common flower extraction methods are: 1. Butane Honey Oil Extraction Butane honey oil (BHO) extraction has been highly studied and is used extensively in the food and perfume industry. The extraction method requires flower to be placed in a container before butane is sprayed on flower to start the extraction process. The cannabinoids and butane are collected in another container. The mixture must then be left to evaporate, or a vacuum oven may also be used to remove all of the butane from the mixture. BHO extraction is dangerous due to the high flammability of the substance, but closed-loop systems have made BHO extraction much safer. THC levels, when the BHO extraction method is used, remain around 80%. 2. Supercritical CO2 Oil Extraction CO2 extraction is a non-toxic, environmentally-friendly method of separating cannabinoids from the flower plant. The extraction method leaves no traces of toxins behind and is also used in the following industries: Beer Coffee Fruit extracts Tea Supercritical CO2 is heated and passed through the flower buds. The liquid will pass through a separator to help remove the CO2 gas from the trichomes and terpenes. As an environmentally-friendly method, the gas is pushed through a condenser which allows the gas to liquefy again and be recycled so that it can be used for the extraction process in the future. CO2 extraction requires precise equipment, but it is a great method for making waxes and oils. 3. Ethanol Extract Cannabis producers are starting to use ethanol extraction methods more often. The extraction is safe, efficient and effective. Ethanol is often used as a food preservative and is considered “generally safe” by the FDA. The flower plant is soaked in ethanol to extract the THC. Once extracted, the product is put through a refining process that enhances the purity of the product. Ethanol will remove unwanted compounds from the substance offering one of the best tasting and purest concentrates available. The key to ethanol extraction is ensuring that the product is properly refined. 4. Water Extraction Water extraction utilizes a solvent-less method of extraction that submerges the flower plant in freezing water. The plant is stirred in the cold water causing the trichomes to separate from the plant. Once the trichomes fall off of the plant, it will pass through a series of screens. The end result is a product that has 50% to 70% THC levels. 5. Isopropyl Oil Extraction Isopropyl alcohol is required for this extraction method. Dried flower flowers are soaked in alcohol and then shaken gently. Isopropyl strips the trichomes from the plant. The mixture is strained into a dish and then the solvent is removed using a vacuum oven that keeps temperatures under 181 degrees. When the solvent evaporates, the remaining substance is a THC rich oil. An Israeli startup is also working on a new extraction method that uses algorithmic extraction to manipulate temperatures to extract cannabinoids and terpenes without losing some of the plant’s properties along the way. All extracts need to be properly stored and cooled to maintain shelf life and quality. Our flower extraction chillers allow for precision temperature control after the extraction process. When properly chilled, THC-A and CBD-A remain inactive. Chillers allow for these key molecules to remain inactive and unspoiled by heat. At JCY, we understand that the extraction process needs to be followed with accurate chilling. Rent our chiller equipment to maintain your flower extract’s quality and shelf-life. Five Cannabinoids You Can Extract From the Cannabis Plant | JC Younger

Extracting Cannabinoids Using An Industrial Chiller Just a few short years ago, cannabinoid extraction was accomplished in secrecy. Today, flower products –including extracts– are legally produced and openly sold in legitimate dispensaries in more than 30 states. If you’re interested in becoming part of this important business boom, you may wish to consider setting up your own extraction facility. With that in mind, here are five flower extracts to know about: THC Extraction Probably the most well-known compound found in flower, delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the stuff that gives marijuana enthusiasts a euphoric, or ‘high’ feeling. First isolated from Lebanese hashish by an Israeli chemist in 1964, THC is one of a hundred or more cannabinoids with the ability to naturally bind to receptor cells located throughout the human brain and body. Not all THC is the same, however. Raw flower provides a cannabinoid called THCa. The jury is still out on what THCa actually does for a living flower plant, but studies suggest that it acts as a kind of defense for the growing plant, explains Leafly magazine. When heat is applied, THCa converts into the psychoactive THC that recreational flower users expect. Too much heat during the extraction process can cause THCa to convert to a less desirable form of THC known as delta-8, explains Cannabis Pharmacy author, Michael Backes. To make extracts under optimal conditions, be sure to have an industrial chiller nearby at all times. Cannabis strains abundant in THC Godfather OG Superglue Chemdog Strawberry banana Emperor Cookie Dough CBD Extraction Second only to THC in cannabinoid count, CBD promises much in the way of medicinal value without any of the ‘buzz’ associated with flower. Typically extracted from industrial hemp, CBD is approved to treat seizures and is currently being studied as a treatment for a number of chronic conditions, including multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease, explains Mayo Clinic. Cannabis strains with high CBD Cannatonic Ringo’s Gift Cali Cure Desert Ruby OG Kush CBG Extraction Known to botanists as cannabigerol, CBG is yet another cannabinoid that may be extracted and used medicinally without any mind-altering effects. Strains that are bred to be high in CBD tend to contain plentiful CBG as well. Researchers are currently testing CBG to treat chronic pain, glaucoma, inflammation, and other conditions, according to Leaf Science magazine. So far, very few flower strains have been developed specifically for a high CBG count, explains High Times magazine. If you wish to create extracts that feature the CBG molecule, opt for good old flower sativa or industrial hemp plants. CBN Extraction Only slightly psychoactive, cannabinol (CBN) extract may be quite sedating and just right for bedtime use. As a byproduct of ripening THC, CBN holds promise as a future medicine, touts Marijuana Break magazine. Any strain that is allowed to ripen for an extra-long time is bound to deliver a high dose of CBN. If you wish to make extracts, flower strains known to be abundant in CBN include Animal Cookies and Ace of Spades Terpenes Extraction Produced by the same plant glands that make THC and CBD, terpenes are oily molecules that give each flower strain a distinct aroma and flavor. Terpenes are most abundant in female plants that have never been exposed to male flower plants. Present in living flower plants as terpenoids, terpenes develop as buds and are dried and cured, explains Medical Jane. More than 140 terpenes are identified so far, with more being discovered all the time. Some of the more popular terpenes that can be extracted for the flower industry include citrusy limonine, earthy myrcene, spicy caryophyllene, and pinene.
